Description

This Cherry Kool-Aid Pie is a no-bake, refreshing sweet treat perfect for hot summer days. Made with a graham cracker crust, cream cheese, sweetened condensed milk, black cherry Kool-Aid mix, and Cool Whip, this easy-to-make dessert is chilled to set and garnished with maraschino cherries for a fun, fruity finish.

Ingredients

Scale

Crust

  • 6 ounce pre-made graham cracker crust

Filling

  • 8 ounce cream cheese softened
  • 14 ounce container sweetened condensed milk
  • 0.13 ounce packet unsweetened black cherry Kool-Aid mix
  • 8 ounce container Cool Whip thawed

Garnish

  • 1 cup Cool Whip extra (optional for garnish)
  • 8 maraschino cherries with stems

Instructions

  1. Beat Cream Cheese: Using a medium size mixing bowl and a handheld mixer on medium-high speed, beat the softened cream cheese for 1 minute until smooth.
  2. Combine Condensed Milk: Add the sweetened condensed milk to the cream cheese and continue mixing for 1 more minute until completely combined.
  3. Add Kool-Aid Mix: Sprinkle in the unsweetened black cherry Kool-Aid mix and mix until the color is uniform throughout the mixture.
  4. Fold in Cool Whip: Add the thawed Cool Whip and mix on low speed until the pie filling is well incorporated and smooth.
  5. Fill Crust: Spoon the pie filling evenly into the pre-made graham cracker crust, spreading it smoothly.
  6. Chill Pie: Cover the pie and chill it in the refrigerator for at least 4 hours until fully set.
  7. Slice Pie: Once chilled, slice the pie into 8 equal slices.
  8. Garnish Slices: Using a decorator’s bag or a quart size ziplock bag with a corner snipped off, pipe extra Cool Whip in a swirl on the edge of each slice.
  9. Add Cherries: Place one maraschino cherry on top of each swirl of Cool Whip.
  10. Serve: Keep the pie chilled until ready to serve.

Notes

  • Store leftover pie covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  • Freeze pie without Cool Whip and cherries for up to 1 month, tightly covered in aluminum foil.
  • Allow frozen pie to thaw overnight in the refrigerator before serving.
  • You can substitute any flavor of Kool-Aid for black cherry to vary the taste.
  • If using the plastic cover from the graham cracker crust as the lid, remove the paper center and use it for storing the pie.
  • When freezing with the plastic lid, wrap the pie again tightly with aluminum foil to prevent freezer burn.
  • Garnish the pie with corresponding fruit when using different Kool-Aid flavors.
  • Keep the pie chilled until serving for best texture and flavor.
