Description

This Chicken Bacon Ranch Stromboli is a delicious blend of tender shredded chicken, crispy bacon, and creamy ranch dressing, all wrapped in golden, baked pizza dough. It's easy to prepare and perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or a crowd-pleasing game day snack.

Ingredients

Units Scale

Stromboli

  • 1 (13.8-ounce) can refrigerated pizza dough
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded rotisserie chicken
  • 1/2 cup chopped crisp bacon (about 12 slices)
  • 1/2 cup ranch dressing, plus more for dipping
  • 1 teaspoon ranch seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley

Egg Wash

  • 1 large egg, beaten
  • 1-2 tablespoons water

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven: Set your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and allow it to fully preheat while you prepare the stromboli.
  2. Prepare the dough: Roll out the refrigerated pizza dough on a piece of parchment paper placed on a sheet pan. Stretch it carefully into a rectangular shape, leaving about an inch of space on the ends and a third of the dough empty on either side.
  3. Add the fillings: Evenly spread 1 ½ cups shredded mozzarella cheese down the center of the dough. Next, layer on 1 ½ cups shredded rotisserie chicken, ½ cup chopped crisp bacon, and ½ cup ranch dressing over the cheese.
  4. Roll the stromboli: Fold over one empty side of the dough, then roll it tightly like a cinnamon roll, making sure to pinch the seams and ends together securely to prevent leaks during baking.
  5. Prepare the egg wash: In a small bowl, whisk together 1 large beaten egg with 1 to 2 tablespoons of water to create an egg wash.
  6. Finish and bake: Place the rolled stromboli seam-side down on the sheet pan. Brush the top generously with the egg wash. Sprinkle 1 teaspoon ranch seasoning and 1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley over the top. Cut a few slits in the top of the dough to allow steam to escape during baking.
  7. Bake until golden: Place the stromboli in the preheated oven and bake for 25 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and cooked through.
  8. Serve: Remove from oven and let cool slightly. Slice and serve with additional ranch dressing for dipping if desired.

Notes

  • Use rotisserie chicken for a quick and flavorful option, but grilled or baked chicken can also work.
  • To make the bacon crispier, cook it in a skillet beforehand or bake until fully crispy.
  • If you prefer a spicier stromboli, add a pinch of chili flakes or a dash of hot sauce to the ranch dressing.
  • Make sure to seal the dough well to avoid filling leakage during baking.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator and reheated in the oven for best texture.
