Description

Chocolate Peppermint Grahams combine crunchy graham crackers dipped in smooth milk and white chocolate, topped with crushed peppermint candy canes for a festive treat that's easy to make and perfect for the holidays.

Ingredients

Scale

Chocolate Coating

  • 11 ounce package milk chocolate, melted
  • 11 ounce package white chocolate, melted

Other Ingredients

  • 4 peppermint candy canes, crushed
  • 24 graham cracker squares or 12 full size crackers

Instructions

  1. Melt Milk Chocolate: Place the milk chocolate in a microwave-safe bowl and heat for 30 seconds. Stir well, then continue heating in 30 second intervals, stirring between each, until the chocolate is smooth and completely melted, approximately 90 seconds total.
  2. Dip Graham Crackers in Milk Chocolate: Dip one end of each graham cracker square into the melted milk chocolate. Place the dipped crackers onto parchment paper and repeat with all crackers. Allow the coating to set at room temperature.
  3. Melt White Chocolate: In a microwave-safe bowl, melt the white chocolate using the same method as with the milk chocolate: heat for 30 seconds, stir, and continue heating and stirring in 30 second intervals until smooth.
  4. Dip in White Chocolate and Add Peppermint: Dip the opposite end of each graham cracker into the melted white chocolate. Immediately sprinkle the crushed peppermint candy canes onto the white chocolate before it sets. Place back on parchment paper and allow to set completely.

Notes

  • Use Ghirardelli candy melts for an easy, no-tempering required chocolate with exceptional flavor.
  • To speed setting time, place the dipped graham crackers in the fridge for about 15 minutes.
  • Store finished graham crackers in an airtight container at room temperature or in the fridge if you prefer them cold and crunchy.
  • Crush peppermint candy canes by placing them in a plastic bag and rolling a rolling pin over them a few times; kids enjoy helping with this step.
  • For variation, substitute dark chocolate for milk chocolate to suit your taste.
  • Try different crackers such as chocolate graham crackers, saltines, or Ritz crackers for a salty-sweet twist.
