Scale
Main Ingredients
- 1½ pounds chicken breast tenders
- 1 large egg
- ¼ cup milk
- ½ cup flour
- ¼ cup plain bread crumbs
- 1½ tablespoons everything bagel seasoning blend
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 1 to 2 teaspoons olive oil spray
- Dipping sauces, for serving
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 425 degrees Fahrenheit. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper or foil and set it aside for later.
- Prepare Egg Mixture: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the egg and milk until well combined. Set this mixture aside.
- Mix Dry Coating: In another bowl or plate, combine the flour, bread crumbs, everything bagel seasoning, and paprika, mixing evenly.
- Coat Chicken: Working with one chicken tender at a time, first dip it into the dry breading mixture, then dip into the egg mixture allowing excess egg to drip off, and finally roll it again in the breading mixture to fully coat the chicken.
- Arrange on Baking Sheet: Place the breaded chicken tenders evenly spaced on the prepared baking sheet to ensure even cooking.
- Spray with Oil: Spray the chicken tenders evenly with 1 to 2 teaspoons of olive oil spray to help them crisp up during baking.
- Initial Bake: Bake the tenders in the preheated oven for 10 minutes to start cooking and crisping the coating.
- Flip and Continue Baking: Carefully flip the chicken tenders, spray them again lightly with olive oil, and bake for an additional 8 minutes or until the tenders are golden brown and reach an internal temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Rest and Serve: Remove the chicken tenders from the oven and let them rest for a couple of minutes before serving. Serve with your favorite dipping sauces.
Notes
- For extra crunch, use pork panko crumbs instead of regular bread crumbs.
- You can substitute the olive oil spray with melted butter for a richer flavor.
- Make sure not to overcrowd the baking sheet to allow proper air circulation and even crisping.
- Use a meat thermometer to ensure chicken reaches a safe internal temperature of 165˚F.
- Everything bagel seasoning can be store-bought or homemade by mixing sesame seeds, poppy seeds, dried garlic, dried onion, and salt.
