Ingredients
Scale
Spice Mix
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon baking powder (optional)
Chicken Wings
- 2 pounds chicken wings
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Garlic Parmesan Wing Sauce
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup parsley, chopped
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
Instructions
- Preheat the Oven: Heat the oven to 200C/400F and arrange a rack in the middle of the oven to ensure even cooking.
- Prepare the Spice Mix: In a small bowl, combine garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and baking powder if using, mixing well for an even spice blend.
- Coat the Wings: Place the chicken wings in a baking dish and sprinkle the spice mix evenly over them. Drizzle olive oil on top and toss to coat well.
- Bake the Wings: Bake the wings in the preheated oven for 45 minutes, turning halfway if desired to ensure crispiness.
- Make the Garlic Parmesan Sauce: While the wings bake, melt butter in a small pot over low heat. Add minced garlic and chopped parsley, stirring until fragrant, then remove from heat.
- Finish the Wings: When wings are cooked, remove from the oven, pour the garlic butter mixture over them, and sprinkle with freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
- Crisp the Wings: Return the wings to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes until the cheese is melted and the wings are crispy and golden brown.
Notes
- TO STORE: Transfer leftover wings into an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 4 days.
- TO FREEZE: Place leftovers in a shallow container and store in the freezer for up to 6 months.
- TO REHEAT: Reheat chicken wings in the oven or air fryer to maintain crispiness. Avoid microwaving as it makes the wings soggy.
- For extra crispiness, you can broil the wings for 1-2 minutes after the final bake, watching carefully to prevent burning.
- If baking powder is not available, you can omit it, but it helps make wings extra crispy.
