Description

This Garlic Bread Pizza recipe transforms classic garlic bread into a delicious, easy-to-make pizza with a crispy crust, melty mozzarella, zesty pepperoni, and a flavorful garlic butter base. Perfect for a quick dinner or snack, it combines savory toppings with a buttery, garlicky bread for irresistible flavor.

Ingredients

Scale

Garlic Butter

  • ½ cup salted butter softened
  • 6 garlic cloves finely minced or pressed
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley

French Bread Pizzas

  • 1 pound French bread or Italian bread
  • ½ cup pizza sauce
  • 8 ounces low-moisture mozzarella cheese shredded
  • 15 pepperoni slices
  • 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese
  • Red pepper flakes (optional)
  • Chopped fresh parsley to garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat Oven: Preheat the oven to 400℉ and line a sheet pan with parchment paper to prevent sticking and make cleanup easier.
  2. Prepare Garlic Butter: In a small bowl, mix together ½ cup softened salted butter, 6 finely minced or pressed garlic cloves, and 1 tablespoon chopped fresh parsley until well combined.
  3. Cut Bread: Slice the 1 pound French or Italian bread in half lengthwise to create two long pieces, similar to preparing garlic bread.
  4. Apply Garlic Butter and Bake: Spread half of the garlic butter mixture evenly over each bread half. Place the bread halves cut side up on the prepared sheet pan and bake for 5 minutes to toast the bread slightly and melt some butter.
  5. Add Sauce and Toppings: Remove the bread from the oven and spread ¼ cup pizza sauce on each half. Then evenly distribute 8 ounces shredded low-moisture mozzarella cheese, 15 pepperoni slices, and 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese over the sauce.
  6. Bake to Melt and Brown: Return the bread to the oven and bake for 18 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and the edges of the bread are golden brown.
  7. Garnish and Serve: Remove from the oven and let the pizzas rest for 2 to 3 minutes. Garnish with optional red pepper flakes, chopped fresh parsley, and extra parmesan cheese if desired. Slice and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use a bakery-style loaf with a soft crust for best texture and flavor.
  • For a quicker meal, substitute frozen garlic bread and skip the garlic butter mixture step.
  • Freshly shredded low-moisture mozzarella melts better and provides optimal flavor.
  • Parmesan cheese adds a nice sharpness and can be adjusted to taste.
  • Optional garnishes like red pepper flakes and parsley add color and a little heat or freshness.
