Ingredients
Scale
Spice Mix
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon pepper
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon baking powder (optional)
Wings
- 2 pounds chicken wings
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
Garlic Parmesan Wing Sauce
- 1/4 cup butter, melted
- 5 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup parsley, chopped
- 1/4 cup Parmesan cheese, freshly grated
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Heat the oven to 400F (200C) and arrange a rack in the middle of the oven to ensure even cooking.
- Prepare Spice Mix: In a small bowl, combine the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, pepper, smoked paprika, and baking powder if using, mixing well to create the dry seasoning blend.
- Coat Wings: Place the chicken wings in a baking dish. Sprinkle the prepared spice mix evenly over the wings and toss to coat thoroughly. Drizzle the olive oil over the wings, turning them to ensure they’re well coated.
- Bake Wings: Bake the wings in the preheated oven for 45 minutes until they are cooked through, crispy, and golden brown on the outside.
- Make Garlic Sauce: While the wings bake, melt the butter in a small pot over low heat. Add the minced garlic and chopped parsley. Stir occasionally until the garlic is fragrant, then remove from heat.
- Toss Wings in Sauce: Once the wings are cooked, remove them from the oven and pour the warm garlic butter mixture over them. Toss to coat all wings evenly.
- Final Bake: Sprinkle the freshly grated Parmesan cheese over the wings. Return the wings to the oven and bake for an additional 5 minutes to melt the cheese and create a crispy, brown finish.
Notes
- TO STORE: Transfer leftover wings into an airtight container and refrigerate for up to 4 days.
- TO FREEZE: Place leftovers in a shallow container and store in the freezer for up to 6 months.
- TO REHEAT: Reheat chicken wings in the oven or air fryer to retain crispiness. Avoid microwaving as it will make the wings soggy.
