Ingredients
Scale
Pizza
- 1 lb. pizza dough, at room temp
- 1/2 cup pizza sauce
- 1/2 cup sliced or diced cooked ham (3-4 oz.)
- 8 oz. pineapple chunks, drained and sliced thinner
- 4 strips bacon, cooked and crumbled
- 2 cups mozzarella cheese, whole milk/low moisture
Garlic Butter Parmesan Crust
- 1 tablespoon melted butter
- 1 teaspoon Parmesan cheese, grated
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
To Garnish
- Red Pepper Flakes
- Parsley
- Oregano
Instructions
- Preheat Oven: Preheat your oven to 450 degrees Fahrenheit. Place a pizza stone inside while heating if you have one for a crispier crust.
- Prepare Pineapple: Slice each pineapple chunk into two thinner slices and place them between paper towels to absorb excess moisture.
- Shape Dough: Spread the pizza dough into an even 12-inch circle on a baking sheet or pizza peel. Poke holes in the dough using a fork to prevent bubbling.
- Add Toppings: Spread the pizza sauce evenly over the dough, then sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top. Add the sliced ham, prepared pineapple slices, and crumbled bacon evenly over the cheese.
- Bake Pizza: Bake the pizza for 13 minutes until the crust is mostly cooked and cheese is melting.
- Brush Garlic Butter: Mix the melted butter with Parmesan cheese and garlic powder. Brush this mixture over the crust edge of the partially baked pizza.
- Finish Baking: Return the pizza to the oven and bake for an additional 3 minutes or until the crust is golden brown.
- Garnish and Serve: Sprinkle red pepper flakes, chopped parsley, and oregano over the pizza. Slice into 8 pieces and serve warm.
Notes
- Use store-bought refrigerated pizza dough for convenience or prepare homemade dough for better flavor.
- Low moisture whole milk mozzarella cheese is ideal for melting; avoid fresh mozzarella as it is too wet.
- For added smoky flavor, mix half pizza sauce and half barbecue sauce on the pizza.
- Ham or Canadian bacon works best as the meat topping; leftover ham can be repurposed.
- Always drain and pat dry pineapple slices to prevent soggy crust.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
- To reheat, cover leftover slices with foil and bake at 275 degrees Fahrenheit for 25-30 minutes to restore texture.
