Description

Oreo Polar Bear Paws are a fun and festive treat featuring Oreo cookies dipped in melted white chocolate, decorated with Junior Mints and mini brown M&Ms to resemble polar bear paws. These no-bake treats are perfect for parties, holidays, or a playful snack that kids and adults will love.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 20 ounces white chocolate melting wafers
  • 1 13.9-ounce package Oreos
  • 1 box Junior Mints
  • 100 mini brown M&Ms (from 1 family size package of mini M&Ms)
  • Sanding sugar, as needed

Instructions

  1. Prepare the workspace: Line a large sheet pan with parchment paper to place the coated Oreos on for setting.
  2. Melt the white chocolate: Place the white chocolate melting wafers in a microwave-safe bowl. Microwave in 30 second increments, stirring thoroughly between each interval until the chocolate is fully melted and smooth.
  3. Coat the Oreos: Drop one Oreo cookie into the melted white chocolate. Use a fork to fully coat the Oreo by flipping it over and lifting it out. Shake off any excess chocolate, scraping the bottom edge of the bowl to avoid pooling around the cookie.
  4. Decorate the Oreos: Place the chocolate-coated Oreo on the parchment paper. Position one Junior Mint in the bottom center of the Oreo to act as the pad of the polar bear’s paw. Surround the top with 4 mini brown M&Ms to represent the toes. Generously sprinkle sanding sugar over the top for added sparkle and texture.
  5. Repeat coating and decorating: Continue dipping and decorating Oreos in batches (around 5 at a time) until all have been coated and decorated.
  6. Set the coated Oreos: Transfer the decorated Oreos to the freezer and chill for 10 minutes to allow the white chocolate and decorations to fully set.
  7. Storage: Store the Oreo Polar Bear Paws in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week. They can be frozen but note the M&Ms may lose color upon thawing.

Notes

  • Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 1 week or refrigerate for up to 2 weeks for extended freshness.
  • Freezing is possible but not recommended as mini M&Ms tend to lose their color when thawed.
  • Use melting wafers or high-quality white chocolate for best coating results and easy melting.
  • Work in small batches when dipping to prevent the chocolate from seizing or hardening prematurely.
