Ingredients
Scale
Oreo Balls
- 45 Oreo cookies (about 18 ounces, Family Size package)
- 8 ounces cream cheese, room temperature
- 10 ounces Ghirardelli white chocolate melting wafers, divided
Snowman Hats
- 12 mini Oreos, pulled apart
- 24 Rolos candies (dark chocolate for best color match)
- Holly sprinkle mix
Decoration
- Snowman sprinkle mix
- Two black sugar pearl sprinkles per snowman (for eyes and smile)
- Carrot sprinkle for the nose
Instructions
- Prepare Oreo Crumbs: Line a baking tray with parchment paper and set aside. Add the 45 Oreo cookies to a food processor or high-speed blender and pulse until fine crumbs form.
- Mix Cream Cheese and Crumbs: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened 8 ounces of cream cheese with a hand mixer on high speed until smooth. Add the Oreo crumbs and mix on medium speed until well combined.
- Form Balls and Chill: Using a medium cookie scoop, portion the mixture into evenly sized balls. Roll each ball between your palms to smooth them out. Place the balls on the prepared tray and chill in the refrigerator for 2 hours.
- Make Snowman Hats: Melt about ¼ cup of the 10 ounces white chocolate melting wafers in the microwave at 30-second intervals, stirring between each until smooth. Split mini Oreos in half and remove cream filling. Use a skewer to dab melted chocolate on the Oreo half, then press an upside-down Rolo candy on top. Decorate with holly sprinkle mix as desired. Allow chocolate to harden, then set aside.
- Melt Remaining White Chocolate: Melt the rest of the white chocolate wafers in the microwave at 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth and fully melted.
- Coat Oreo Balls: Use a fork to dip each chilled Oreo ball into the melted white chocolate, lifting and tapping the fork on the bowl's edge to even out the coating. Place the coated balls back on the baking tray.
- Decorate Faces: Quickly add the snowman sprinkle mix to create the face, using two black sugar pearls for eyes, a carrot sprinkle for the nose, and additional black sugar pearls for the smile. Work fast before the coating sets.
- Add Snowman Hats: Place the decorated hats on top of the coated Oreo balls' heads. If the coating has set, dab a little melted chocolate to secure the hat. Hold steady for a few seconds to ensure it sets.
- Set and Store: Allow the snowman Oreo balls to set completely for about 15 minutes. Keep refrigerated until ready to serve. Enjoy!
Notes
- Any flavored Oreos can be used for a fun twist on the flavor.
- If Wilton’s Snowman Decorating Sprinkles are unavailable, substitute with black sugar pearls or black icing gel for eyes and smile; use orange sprinkles or orange Tic Tacs for the nose.
- Store leftover Oreo balls in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days to maintain freshness.
