Ingredients
Scale
Main Ingredients
- 1/3 cup mascarpone cheese
- 12 savoiardi biscuits (ladyfingers, about 3.5 oz / 100 g)
- 3 tablespoons brewed espresso coffee, cooled
- 3 teaspoons sifted powdered sugar
- Cacao powder for dusting
Instructions
- Brew the espresso: Brew 3 tablespoons of espresso coffee and allow it to cool completely before using to avoid melting the mascarpone.
- Crush the savoiardi biscuits: Place the savoiardi biscuits in a blender or food processor and blitz until they reach a fine powder consistency.
- Make the cream mixture: In a mixing bowl, combine the mascarpone cheese and sifted powdered sugar. Add the cooled espresso and stir well until the mixture is smooth and creamy.
- Combine with crushed biscuits: Add the crushed ladyfingers to the mascarpone mixture. Using a rubber spatula, fold and stir until all the ingredients are well combined into a thick batter-like consistency similar to cookie dough.
- Form the truffles: Using your fingers or a spoon, scoop approximately a teaspoon of the mixture and roll it into a ball. Place each ball on a plate. Continue forming balls until all the mixture is used, making about 10 truffles.
- Chill the truffles: Place the truffle balls in the refrigerator to set for 1 hour. This will allow them to firm up while maintaining a soft interior. For firmer truffles, chill for a longer time.
- Coat with cacao powder: Pour cacao powder into a small bowl. Roll each chilled truffle in the cacao powder until fully coated. Serve immediately and enjoy your delicious Tiramisu Truffles.
Notes
- Ensure the espresso is completely cooled before mixing to prevent the mascarpone from curdling.
- If you don't have savoiardi biscuits, you may substitute with vanilla wafers or graham crackers, though the texture will vary slightly.
- You can adjust the amount of powdered sugar according to your preferred sweetness.
- For a firmer truffle, chill overnight in the refrigerator.
- Use high-quality cacao powder for the best chocolate flavor and dusting effect.
- Store the truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
