Description

Delicious and festive Valentine’s Day Chocolate Bark featuring layered dark, white, and pink candy melts, topped with Valentine’s Day candy and sprinkles. Perfect for a seasonal treat or gift, this easy recipe involves melting and layering chocolates to create a beautiful marbled effect.

Ingredients

Scale

Chocolate Layers

  • 1½ cups dark chocolate chips
  • 12 ounces white chocolate baking bars (3 bars, 4 ounces each)
  • ¾ cup pink candy melts

Toppings

  • ¼ cup Valentine’s Day candy
  • 2 tablespoons Valentine’s Day sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare Pan: Line a half sheet baking pan with parchment paper leaving an overhang for easy removal and set aside.
  2. Melt Dark Chocolate: Place dark chocolate chips in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat for 30 seconds, stir well, then continue heating in 15-20 second increments, stirring thoroughly each time until completely melted and smooth.
  3. Spread Dark Chocolate: Pour melted dark chocolate onto the prepared parchment paper and spread evenly into a thin layer with a spatula. Set aside for about 10 minutes until mostly hardened but still slightly soft.
  4. Melt White Chocolate: Break white chocolate bars into chunks and place in a microwave-safe bowl. Heat for 30 seconds, stir, then continue heating in short increments stirring well until smooth.
  5. Melt Pink Candy Melts: In a separate microwave-safe bowl, melt the pink candy melts by heating 30 seconds and stirring, then in 15-20 second increments until smooth and fully melted.
  6. Layer White Chocolate: Quickly pour melted white chocolate over the dark chocolate layer and spread evenly. Work fast as this layer will harden quickly.
  7. Drizzle Pink Candy: Before white chocolate sets, drizzle the melted pink candy melts over it in a decorative pattern.
  8. Create Marble Effect: Gently swirl a toothpick through the pink and white candy layers to create a marbled appearance, avoiding the dark chocolate layer.
  9. Add Toppings: While the chocolate is still warm, evenly sprinkle Valentine’s Day candy and sprinkles over the top.
  10. Cool and Set: Allow the bark to cool for 30 minutes or until completely hardened.
  11. Serve: Break or cut the bark into pieces and enjoy.

Notes

  • Store bark in an airtight container at room temperature for 4-5 days or refrigerate for up to 2 weeks.
  • Freeze bark in freezer-safe containers for up to 4 months.
  • Adjust serving size by breaking bark into smaller or larger pieces to suit your needs.
  • Leave extra parchment paper overhang on baking sheet to easily lift bark once hardened.
  • Heat chocolates slowly and stir frequently to prevent seizing or lumping.
  • Allow each chocolate layer to mostly harden before adding the next to avoid blending layers; for swirl effects blend intentionally.
  • If layers harden completely before adding next, they may not adhere well and could snap apart.
