Description

Delightful Valentine’s Oreo Truffles made with golden Oreo cookies, cream cheese, and coated in smooth vanilla candy coating, topped with festive Valentine sprinkles. These bite-sized treats are perfect for sharing or gifting on special occasions.

Ingredients

Scale

Base

  • 36-42 golden Oreo cookies
  • 6 ounce cream cheese, room temperature
  • 20 drops pink food coloring, divided (more or less to adjust color)

Coating and Decoration

  • 16 ounces vanilla candy coating
  • Favorite Valentine sprinkles

Instructions

  1. Prepare Oreo Crumbs: Place 36 Oreo cookies in a food processor or crush in a sealed bag until fine crumbs form.
  2. Mix Base Ingredients: Transfer Oreo crumbs to a mixer or leave in the food processor, add softened cream cheese and 10 drops of pink food coloring, and mix thoroughly until well combined and able to stick together.
  3. Form Truffle Balls: Using a small ice cream scoop, melon baller, rounded teaspoon, or candy scoop, portion uniform amounts of the mixture and roll between palms into firm 1 1/4 inch balls. Place on a cookie sheet lined with parchment paper. Repeat until all mixture is used, yielding about 24 balls. Freeze the balls while preparing the coating.
  4. Melt Candy Coating: Break vanilla candy coating into pieces and microwave in a microwave-safe bowl in 20 second bursts, stirring after each, until smooth and liquid (approximately 1 to 2 minutes).
  5. Dip Truffles: Using a fork or dipping tool, dip each truffle ball into the melted candy coating, allowing excess to drip off by tapping the fork against the bowl’s edge.
  6. Decorate: Place dipped truffles on parchment paper and immediately sprinkle with Valentine sprinkles while coating is still soft. Repeat for all balls.
  7. Set Coating: Return the truffles to the refrigerator and chill for at least 15 minutes to fully set the coating.
  8. Serve: Allow truffles to come to room temperature before serving for the best taste and texture. Enjoy your Valentine’s Oreo Truffles!

Notes

  • Store truffles in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
  • For longer storage, freeze truffles for up to 3 months and thaw overnight in the refrigerator before serving.
  • If you don't have a food processor, crush Oreo cookies in a Ziploc bag with a rolling pin.
  • If the crumb mixture is too thin and doesn't stick together, add more cookie crumbs to adjust consistency.
  • Use a toothpick to remove excess coating from the fork after dipping to keep truffles neat.
  • Sprinkle toppings or drizzle contrasting chocolate before coating sets to add creative decoration.
